The new Makito X4 offers power, quality and flexibility for real-time HEVC/AVC video encoding in a compact appliance or rack-mountable blade. Designed for the most demanding live video applications, the Makito X4 can ingest full 4K UHD or up to four HD inputs with 10-bit pixel depth, 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, and high dynamic range (HDR) video using PQ or HLG transfer functions.
Extremely robust and always reliable, the Makito X4 offers 8 powerful encoding cores that can securely and simultaneously deliver low latency multi-bitrate streams over any IP network. And with native support for the SRT protocol, the Makito X4 is ideal for streaming over unpredictable networks such as the public internet.

The perfect companion to the Makito X4 Encoder, the Makito X4 Decoder leverages Haivision’s Makito X heritage for proven reliability, quality and innovation. Compatible with a variety of Haivision products and able to fit in the same chassis as other Makito X and X4 products, the Makito X4 Decoder provides a seamless end-to-end 4K over IP workflow at ultra-low latency.

For managing multiple Makito X encoders and decoders, the Haivision EMS element management system can be used to organize and group devices with custom tags, monitor their status in real-time and perform firmware upgrades from a central location.
