Some ground support equipment used;

  • Electric or gasoline driven tractor/pushers known as TUG are used to pull airplanes, helicopters and UAVs out of the apron or hangar to a suitable location.
  • Aircraft refuelers can be a hydrant truck or a standalone fuel truck. Fuel trucks operate independently and typically contain 10.000 US gallons of fuel. These devices have their own pumps, filters, other equipment and hoses.
  • Tugboats and tractors are used for various purposes in ground support services.
  • Ground power units assist in powering aircraft parked on the ground.
  • The buses at the airport are used to transport people from the terminal to the plane.
  • Container loaders assist in loading pallets and containers into and out of aircraft.
  • Electric powered loaders consist of two platforms that rise and fall independently. Containers on the loader are moved with the help of built-in rollers and pallets.
