Due to the increasing demand from divers for a reliable and user-friendly system for recording depth and dive times, we decided to update our existing digital depth sounder (DDG2) with a new, modern system. DMS will be the same size as DDG2 and can be used as a direct replacement. DMS will have more records capacity and will use a comprehensive database to manage these records.
One of the main features is the possibility of connecting a smartphone, tablet or PC to the device. This device can then be used to add data to the DMS or retrieve logs.
One of the most important features is advanced recording capabilities and easier storage and processing of these records. Recording capabilities are essentially extended with a project and personnel database (PPD). In this PPD, you can store information of your projects such as work scope, location, gas mixture and customer. You can also store information about your staff, such as names and IDs.
When you start a new dive the DMS will ask you to select a project, diver, supervisor and gas mixture, all of which will be imported from the PPD. DMS will then add all this information to the dive log. During the dive, the supervisor can make time-related comments in the log. If the dive is over, the supervisor must confirm this and then it is ready for synchronization.
DMS uses a SQL database for storing logs. This database can be set to sync with another DMS, Network server or Cloud storage via WIFI or cable. Network storage and cloud server can be accessed by a web server.
