The “Hidden Human Detection System”, developed by Clantect in collaboration with the University of Southhampton, England, and the Institute of Sound & Vibration Research, is a system that eliminates the deficiencies, false alarms, complex installation and operating details, etc. experienced in human detection technologies and products currently in use in all types of vehicles such as trucks, lorries, etc.
Developed by scientists at the world-renowned Institute for Sound and Vibration Research, ClanTect are highly advanced Motion Detection Systems capable of detecting hidden people in a wide range of transport vehicles. Their world-leading expertise has led to the development of systems that can detect hidden human presence in all environments with the highest levels of accuracy. ClanTect takes a unique and flexible approach to its customers and has the agility to develop custom solutions where required.
ClanTect systems are available in a variety of formats, from desktop equipment for fixed workstations to mobile tablet formats. The latter are lightweight, easy to install and ideal for mobile patrol operations such as ‘Stop and Search’ procedures for Police, Military, Border Protection, Security Officers etc. Customers can choose between wired or wireless systems as well as a newly introduced hybrid unit that can operate in both.
The “Hidden Person Detection System” developed by Clantect (England), of which we are the authorized distributor and representative in Turkey, is a system that detects people who want to make an unauthorized passage/escape by hiding in vehicles such as lorries, trucks, buses, commercial/passenger cars, etc., as well as people who may attempt to enter strategic and critical facilities for sabotage purposes while hidden in vehicles (saboteurs).
Manual searches of vehicles such as trucks, lorries, etc., especially those carrying heavy loads, are both ineffective and impractical, and take a long time. This method causes a lot of workload and loss of time, such as the involvement of more than one security officer in the manual search activity, carrying the loads for detailed searches, and unloading the load if necessary. It is inevitable that each vehicle (truck, lorries, bus, etc.) is searched at security checkpoints in this way, and that other vehicles are also being checked there, thus clogging up traffic, and that after a certain period of time, the seriousness of the search by security officers decreases, due to human nature, and thus the possibility of detecting people hiding decreases.
The system in question is extremely simple and functional to install and use. It also measures the heartbeat of hidden people, constant vibrations around and on the vehicle, etc., and provides results with absolute accuracy thanks to its unique detection and signal processing algorithms, and detects whether there is a person hidden in any vehicle very quickly (less than 2 minutes).
The “Hidden Human Detection System” developed by Clantect consists of a military type (ruggedized) Windows-based tablet and wireless “Motion/Vibration Detection Sensors” against external environmental conditions (fall, rain, etc.). All information such as vibration, noise, etc. detected by the sensors placed on the front and back of the vehicle are transmitted wirelessly to the tablet and analyzed here to determine whether there is a person hidden in the vehicle. In the event of human detection, the system gives both visual and audible alarms and warns that the vehicle needs to be searched in detail. All these processes are very simple, user-friendly and automatic. The unrivaled software on the tablet is also a flexible software that allows sensor tests to be performed, information such as license plates, etc. of the searched vehicles to be entered, photos to be processed into the system, etc.
In addition, all search results can be transferred to a remote center or centers via 4G connection, allowing for auditing and detailed analysis by higher authorities.
ClanTect's Motion Detection Technology is used to detect hidden human presence in vehicles. It is most commonly used to search the interior of larger vehicles (trucks, containers, trailers, buses, caravans, tankers, cement mixers, etc.) where there is more space and room to hide.
The structures of larger vehicles are primarily composed of steel and aluminum alloys. These metallic frames make it extremely difficult to effectively use scanning technologies such as x-rays to detect hidden entities inside the vehicles.
There is increasing pressure on large vehicles to move faster through checkpoints, making it impractical and almost impossible to conduct a thorough search of the vehicle’s interior. For example, it can take 2 or 3 personnel 30-45 minutes to empty a trailer of its contents (and may require lifting equipment such as forklifts) to conduct a thorough search, and another 15-30 minutes to safely load the contents back onto the truck. In busy areas such as ports and rail freight terminals and border crossings, there will be hundreds of vehicles waiting in line to be checked and continue on their journey. Therefore, there is neither the time nor the manpower to effectively search large vehicles manually.
In addition, the concealment of fugitives inside vehicles is becoming increasingly sophisticated. There are new techniques and intelligence used by criminal organizations and terrorist groups to organize the concealment and transportation of human 'cargo'. In parallel, fugitives, especially refugees fleeing armed conflicts and oppressive regimes, are taking great risks to conceal themselves in desperate and potentially life-threatening situations.
ClanTect offers a fast, easy-to-use and, above all, reliable and accurate solution.
The “Hidden Human Detection System” currently;
1. It is used in 140 different locations (ports, airports, border gates, etc.) under the control of the UK Border Force.
2. It is used by the European Union Border Security Unit (Frontex) at different points on the borders of the European Schengen Area.
3. It is used by the Austrian Border Guard Unit at border entry/exit points.
4. In addition to Border Security, it is currently used in many different sectors in many countries, such as Ports, Airports, Nuclear Energy, Hydro-Electric, etc. Power Plants, Strategic Facilities requiring High Security, Prisons, etc.
Potential sectors/areas of use of the Covert Human Detection System:
1. Border Gates
2. Ports
3. Airports
4. Prisons
5. Military Facilities
6. Police/Gendarmerie Units
7. Power Plants – Nuclear Power Plants, Hydro/Thermal Power Plants
8. Strategic Facilities (Oil Refineries, Oil/Natural Gas Storage Facilities, High Security strategically important government units/buildings)
ClanTect uses advanced algorithms, signal processing and system logic to eliminate any background noise (such as vibration from passing traffic). This ensures that readings are interpreted correctly. So even the slightest noise or vibration emitted from the vehicle, such as an excited heartbeat, will be detected. ClanTect’s top-performing accuracy has been confirmed by independent authorities.
It is designed for use in “harsh” outdoor conditions, for example, it has a protective metallic frame and MIL-Spec connectors.
A complete “electronic test” of a vehicle can be completed in just about one minute. As a result, the daily operations of border controls and gate stations and, in particular, traffic flow are not negatively affected.
The sensors are quickly and easily installed on the exterior of the vehicle and the system automatically performs an “electronic search” of the vehicle without any further operator intervention. The Computer Terminal is menu-driven and intuitive, with very little data entry: it is automatic from start to finish.
This option allows the sensors to operate without cables, thus eliminating the need to install and maintain long cables and cable reels, especially important for outdoor and temporary searches. The wireless connection is secure and has a range of up to 60 meters. These sensors are powered by 3 x standard rechargeable AAA batteries, providing full and continuous wireless operation without access to mains power.
The system can operate effectively outdoors when used in conjunction with the ClanTect Wind Frame. This enables the system to eliminate the effects of vibrations caused by wind excitation. This is crucial for search operations without closed vehicle shelters.
The Battery Pack provides full operation without access to mains power. The Battery Pack provides power for over 10 hours of operation. The rechargeable 26V batteries can be swapped on the fly, allowing 24 x 7 continuous operation without mains power, which is crucial for outdoor search operations.
The system can be used for different heavy duty vehicles: trucks, roll-on/roll-off containers, buses, cement mixers, tankers, etc.
The results of the electronic search are captured and stored automatically, meaning no manual input or intervention is required. Fast, Simple and ready for the next vehicle.
All vehicle license plates are automatically and instantly recorded in the system and stored with electronic search results. This provides critical data for operational reports (vehicle tracking) and inspection purposes.
All ClanTect terminals can transmit data to and from central office organisations over secure 4G networks, both national and international. This means that up-to-date information is quickly and easily consolidated across central office hosts. It also allows HQ to remotely access all ClanTect Terminals for operational support and fault diagnosis.
The ClanTect system can provide multi-vehicle scanning from a single terminal, which is particularly useful for larger transport inspection bays that provide higher throughput.
The system is available in many languages and is already used in many countries.
The ClanTect system provides an automatic sensor health check with built-in alarm and audit reports. This ensures that sensors are working correctly while highlighting any irregularities.
This is an additional terminal that manages the lifecycle of ClanTect sensors and cable components to ensure optimum accuracy is maintained. This performs tests on the accuracy and efficiency of the sensors and provides management information data, highlighting any significant performance issues.
The ClanTect system has the CE Certificate, which is an important quality assurance.
